Delete Your Account

Effective Date: August 30, 2026

You can request deletion of your The Food Maestro account and the personal data associated with it at any time. We aim to honor verified deletion requests within 30 days. This page describes how deletion works, what data is removed, what data may be retained, and how subscriptions are handled.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account directly inside The Food Maestro iOS app:

  1. Open The Food Maestro and sign in.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. Select Delete Account.
  5. Review the information displayed and confirm deletion.

Deleting your account permanently removes or anonymizes the personal data associated with your account, subject to the limited legal and operational retention described below.

If you cannot access the app, you may request account deletion by emailing info@thefoodmaestro.com from the email address registered to your TFM account.

Identity verification

To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized deletion requests, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. Verification typically requires that you email us from the address associated with your account, and may include confirming recent account activity or subscription details.

If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to complete the request. We will notify you if additional information is required.

Deletion processing timeline

We strive to process verified account deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. In some cases, verification, technical processing, or coordination with payment providers may extend the timeline. If a delay is expected, we will communicate the revised timeframe to you.

Once deletion is complete, your account and associated personal data will be permanently removed or anonymized, and you will receive confirmation by email.

What data is deleted

  • Account profile (name, email, password, preferences)
  • Pantry data and scanned receipt records
  • Saved recipes and recipe history
  • Meal planning and shopping list history
  • Followed chef channels and personalization signals
  • Device tokens and push notification identifiers
  • Direct identifiers linked to analytics and support records

Data we may retain

Some records may be retained where required by law or to operate the Service responsibly, including transaction and billing records, fraud prevention data, tax records, and accounting records. Retained data is limited to what is necessary for those purposes.

Anonymized and aggregated data retention

After your account is deleted, certain information may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form. This data cannot reasonably be used to identify you and is used for lawful purposes such as analytics, platform improvement, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and product development.

Examples include aggregated recipe popularity metrics, de-identified pantry usage patterns, and anonymized feature interaction statistics. This information helps us improve the Service, maintain platform integrity, and support future product improvements without compromising individual privacy.

Subscriptions and billing

Deleting your TFM account does not automatically cancel an active subscription, if one applies. To avoid future billing, cancel any active subscription before or alongside your account-deletion request.

If an active subscription applies to your account, contact info@thefoodmaestro.com for assistance with cancellation before or alongside your account-deletion request.

Certain transaction and billing records may be retained where required for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legal-compliance purposes.
